The time has come for the the second installment of the Maggie Hendrix Photography Workshop!  There was such a huge response to my spring workshop that I had to turn several away!  I promised that if the workshop was a success, I would hold another one in the future so that they would have another chance to attend.  Right now, I am looking at Saturday, September 19 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m..    This workshop is intended for the beginner in digital photography (beginner with a digital SLR or film SLR).  I plan on making the workshop an all day event including teaching time, shooting time with a live model and then sitting down together at my computer to go over basic photo editing techniques to enhance your own images.  This workshop is in no way intended to teach you how to become a professional photographer, but to gain a better grasp of how your camera works and how you can get stunning shots of your kids/pets/family/vacations/landscapes or whatever your photographic interest may be!  I will be covering the following topics:

– Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO, the holy trinity of photography.  How they work together to achieve a proper and creative exposure.

– The do’s and don’ts of photography (you have to learn the rules before you can break them properly!).

– Finding the sweet light; shooting in morning, mid-day and evening light.

– Landscapes, portraits, action and shooting indoors

– Photo Editing, how to make your photos POP (without shelling out the big bucks for software)!

The only requirement for the workshop is that you bring your own or borrowed  SLR camera.  An SLR is a camera that has interchangeable lenses.  Point and Shoots are great cameras, however, they won’t do you much good for the workshop or to take your photography to the next level.

The cost of the workshop will be $150 per attendee and includes lunch and snacks.  I am limiting the number of attendees to 20 individuals so that I will be able to spend one-on-one shooting time with each person as well as answer ALL of your questions.  To reserve your seat, email me at or give me a call at 501-279-3347.  The registration fee is required to hold  your seat.  After you have paid your registration fee, I will send out an email with all of the “homework” you will need to complete prior to the workshop.  Don’t worry, it won’t be hard and you won’t be tested!
